Day 1
We leave Tena at 8:30am, arrive at the Arajuno River at 9:15, pack all the equipment in the inflatable canoes, our specialized guides will give you a technical talk, and the descent begins.
Once we arrive at the campsite, we’ll unload all the equipment, set up the tents, and arrange the sleeping situation. We will then have lunch at the campsite and rest. To end the day we’ll do an approximately two-hour hike in the jungle to observe giant trees, toucans, parrots, butterflies, and a mammal or two. Typical dinner and rest.
Day 2
In the early morning we will observe wild birds. After breakfast, we’ll pack up all our equipment; before leaving we will head to a nearby indigenous community, where they will show us their different cultural manifestations such as: traditional music and dance, and the making of yucca chicha (fermented manioc drink) and 100% organic artisanal chocolate.
We’ll get back on the boats to continue the descent, and have lunch on the banks of the river.
We’ll continue down for another hour until we reach the port where our transport will be waiting to take us back to Tena.
